Frequently Asked

Honest answers, no marketing speak.

Q01

What is Pattrn?

A Wrong Answer Journal that diagnoses the cognitive trap behind every miss and tutors you out of it through Socratic questioning. Built specifically for the LSAT.

Q02

How is Pattrn different from 7Sage, LSAT Demon, or LawHub?

7Sage gives you course content. LSAT Demon gives you drills. LawHub gives you the practice surface. None of them name the cognitive pattern that's costing you points and tutor you out of it. That's the gap Pattrn fills.

Q03

Is Pattrn allowed by the LSAC?

Pattrn is a study and review tool for LSAT practice. You use it outside the official test environment, the same way you'd use a tutor, a course, or a study group. We don't interface with the LSAC's testing software. We're not affiliated with the LSAC.

Q04

How does Socratic coaching actually work?

When you miss a practice question, Pattrn doesn't tell you the answer. It asks the questions a strong tutor would ask. What does the stimulus actually claim? What trap did the answer choice exploit? Pattrn walks you to the correct reasoning yourself, so the lesson sticks.

Q05

What happens to my data?

Your practice data, wrong answers, and coaching sessions belong to you. We use them to personalize your diagnostic engine, nothing else. We don't sell, share, or train external models on your data. You can export everything and delete your account at any time.

Q06

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No commitment, no questions asked. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period.

Q07

Why does the patent matter to me?

Pattrn isn't a thin wrapper around a general AI model. The diagnostic engine was built for the LSAT specifically and the methodology is patent-pending. Other tools can copy the interface. They can't copy the engine. That means Pattrn keeps working when the underlying model market shifts, and your diagnostic accuracy doesn't depend on which third-party API is cheapest this quarter.

Q08

What tests does Pattrn support?

LSAT now. The architecture is general. The same methodology works across formal-logic-heavy tests. GRE, GMAT, and MCAT are on the roadmap, in that order.

Q09

Do I need the Chrome extension?

The extension makes Pattrn invisible until you miss a question. It watches your practice on 7Sage, LawHub, LSAT Demon, and other surfaces, and opens a coaching session when you miss. If you prefer not to install it, you can log misses directly in Pattrn or upload a CSV.

Q10

Is there a free version?

Yes. The free tier lets you log misses and see basic pattern diagnostics. Paid tiers unlock the full Socratic coaching loop, advanced pattern surfacing, and priority extension features.
